WEBB has been providing civil engineering and planning services to public and private clients regionally and across the state for 75 years!
As we mark this milestone anniversary, we recall our modest beginnings and will never forget those who shaped this company from the start. Our founder, Albert A. Webb, together with his sons Ernie and Hubert, began the WEBB legacy in 1945 and set the foundation on which WEBB still functions today under our CEO, Matthew Webb.
Our history is rich and has made us who we are! WEBB recognizes every project is unique and must be approached with creativity. We employ associates with great insight and initiative who have continued to produce impressive projects and solutions for our clients throughout the years. Many of WEBB’s employees have had long careers at the company, some going back 40 and 50 years. WEBB strives to hire the best and brightest, build strong teams of skilled professionals, and is committed to professional growth and pathways to leadership. This dedication to our associates has created a sincere culture which translates into better service for our clients.
Albert had tremendous vision for engineering opportunities, and for the firm itself. When Albert founded the firm 75 years ago, he demanded the quality of work to be the highest attainable. The criterion of a project was not just the bottom line on the balance sheet, but also had to be good for the community.
Projects large and small have come through the doors of WEBB. During the 1960’s one job that Albert was particularly proud of was the survey of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. This was the type of extremely complicated and complex job that seems to define the work of WEBB.
Diverging from the surveying division, now called Webb and Carroll, over the years more divisions were added to the original plan of Public Works and Land Development. These divisions include Traffic and Transportation, Planning and Environmental, Commercial and Industrial Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Stormwater Engineering, and Assessment and Special Tax which has now become a separate entity, Webb Municipal Finance, LLC. WEBB has become a full-service Engineering and Consulting firm with a thorough knowledge of the area, and a long and dedicated sense of public service.
Of recent, WEBB notable projects have included entitlement, planning, environmental, civil design, and landscape architecture services for the Goodman Commerce Center – one of California’s largest mixed-use developments and currently WEBB is working with the Coachella Valley Association of Governments in creating an interactive pathway that uses solar‑lighted buffers and colors to provide safe active transportation routes for connecting schools, affordable housing, and retail and employment centers in urbanized parts of Coachella Valley.
WEBB’s experience has grown significantly over the last 75 years, and we look forward to the coming years with great enthusiasm. Our culture is guided by our core values of integrity, respect, and trust. Our associates have consistently designed and then redesigned what is possible in the world of civil engineering and planning. Our associates are our best asset – without them we could not be one of the most sought-after firms in the region. WEBB is committed to our associates’ professional growth and engaging work that makes a meaningful impact to our communities.
Tethered to our vision of becoming the “premier consulting firm within our expanding area of operation by consistently understanding and embracing our clients’ needs and fulfilling those needs in a way that is professionally responsible.”, our passion for great work, great results, and client satisfaction will keep WEBB moving forward in the next 75 years.
